{"id":7107,"date":"2025-08-07T14:13:54","date_gmt":"2025-08-07T12:13:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambpraga.esteri.it\/news\/dall_ambasciata\/2025\/08\/women-in-business\/"},"modified":"2025-09-26T11:26:10","modified_gmt":"2025-09-26T09:26:10","slug":"women-in-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ambpraga.esteri.it\/en\/news\/dall_ambasciata\/2025\/08\/women-in-business\/","title":{"rendered":"Women in Business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong data-start=\"138\" data-end=\"161\">\u201cWomen in Business\u201d<\/strong> originated from an idea by the Counsellor of the Embassy of Italy in Prague, Laura Calligaro, in collaboration with the Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CAMIC), with the aim of supporting Italian women entrepreneurs in the Czech Republic.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the Farnesina\u2019s economic diplomacy promotion activities, the Embassy of Italy in Prague subsequently launched a series of initiatives, including the <strong data-start=\"578\" data-end=\"616\">\u201cProgetto Donna\u201d<\/strong>, to offer specialised consultancy services to Italian women interested in starting a business in the Czech Republic.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">PAST EVENTS<\/h4>\n<hr data-start=\"4602\" data-end=\"4605\" \/>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #a95e9a;\">19 November 2024 \u2013 \u201cWomen in Business: Opportunities and Challenges in Czechia\u201d in Prague<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>On 19 November 2024, the Embassy of Italy in Prague hosted the event <strong>\u201cWomen in Business: Opportunities and Challenges in Czechia\u201d<\/strong>, jointly organised by the Embassy and CAMIC. The event opened with speeches by Ambassador <strong>Mauro Marsili<\/strong> and CAMIC President <strong>Danilo Manghi<\/strong>, and featured guest speakers such as Czech entrepreneur and former MEP <strong>Martina Dlabajov\u00e1<\/strong>, and President of the Marisa Bellisario Foundation, <strong>Lella Golfo<\/strong>, who participated via a video message.<\/p>\n<p>The round table, moderated by Deputy Head of Mission Laura Calligaro, brought together prominent figures from the business world: <strong>Tereza Rychta\u0159\u00edkov\u00e1<\/strong> (Vodafone CZ), <strong>Valentina Stranieri<\/strong> (UniCredit CZ), and Dr. <strong>Laura Catarrasa<\/strong>, who addressed the topic of maternity leave. Closing remarks were delivered by <strong>Eva Horelov\u00e1<\/strong>, Deputy Head of the European Commission Representation in Prague.<\/p>\n<p>The event provided an opportunity to reflect on growth prospects for women\u2019s entrepreneurship and laid the groundwork for a future Italian\u2013Czech network of businesswomen, highlighting the contribution of women to the local economic fabric. As Ambassador Marsili emphasised, the initiative is also in line with the priorities of the Italian G7 Presidency, with particular attention to the role of women in the labour market.<\/p>\n<p>To foster women\u2019s participation in business, three thematic subgroups were created: <em>Culture, Services<\/em> and <em>Start-ups<\/em>. The first addresses the challenge posed by the language barrier and, consequently, the importance of translation. The second examines the challenges and opportunities in the professional services sector, especially from a legal standpoint. The third \u2013 scheduled for October 2025 \u2013 aims to focus on innovation by providing a clear overview of local regulations and available funding to support Italian women entrepreneurs in the Czech Republic.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"4602\" data-end=\"4605\" \/>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #a95e9a;\">24 April 2025 \u2013 Official launch of \u201cProgetto Donna\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Published on 24 April 2025 on the website of the Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry,\u00a0<em><strong>Progetto Donna<\/strong><\/em> is a platform developed in cooperation with the Embassy of Italy in Prague, dedicated to Italian women wishing to start a business in the Czech Republic.<br \/>\nThe project aims to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Support Italian women entrepreneurs<\/strong> by providing consultancy services in Italian on tax, regulatory, and management matters, as well as information on available incentives and funding;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Promote female participation<\/strong> in the economy, also through dedicated spaces, resources, and initiatives;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Facilitate the creation of professional networks<\/strong> through events, seminars, and workshops, encouraging the exchange of experiences among Italian and Czech entrepreneurs and local stakeholders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The initiative addresses the need to overcome common barriers, such as access to credit, training, and networking. Considering the differences in legislation and practices between Italy and the Czech Republic, tailored introductory consultancy services help participants navigate the local environment. The creation of a stable network of contacts adds value for developing cross-border partnerships and strengthening the role of women in the Italian\u2013Czech economy.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"4602\" data-end=\"4605\" \/>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #a95e9a;\">26 May 2025 \u2013 \u201cWomen in Business\u201d Workshop in Brno and presentation of <em data-start=\"4250\" data-end=\"4266\">Progetto Donna<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>On 26 May 2025, a new meeting in the <strong>\u201cWomen in Business\u201d<\/strong> series took place in <strong>Brno<\/strong>, at Vicino DiVino, once again promoted by the Embassy of Italy in Prague and CAMIC.
