We, Heads of Diplomatic Missions in Prague, join together during COP 26 in Glasgow to express our hope that the world will find a way forward in this crucial moment. Six years after the unprecedented Paris Agreement, which saw world leaders committing to keep global temperatures from rising more than 2\u00b0C – and if possible 1,5\u00b0C – above pre-industrial levels, the world has not done enough. COP 26 is a crucial opportunity to keep the 1,5\u00b0C limit alive.<\/p>\n
Climate change affects us all. The nations suffering most from this crisis are already amongst the world\u2019s most fragile, and changing climate threatens to displace millions of people. We also see the effects of climate change much closer to home, in Central Europe, with more extreme weather conditions over the last years \u2013 drought, floods, tornadoes, high temperatures.<\/p>\n
Global threats can only be countered with global action. But that can only happen through individual actors. The Czech Republic is a member of the EU which aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. It is not an easy task, but we are all on the same path and we can support each other and work together. We, the Prague Climate Coalition of likeminded Diplomatic Missions in Prague, are looking forward to working closely with the new Czech government, parliament, civil society and other stakeholders to share best-practice and experiences on the path towards carbon neutrality. Every contribution counts and only together can we make the world a better place for future generations.<\/p>\n

Od bezprecedentn\u00ed Pa\u0159\u00ed\u017esk\u00e9 dohody v n\u00ed\u017e se sv\u011btov\u00ed l\u00edd\u0159i zav\u00e1zali, \u017ee zabr\u00e1n\u00ed r\u016fstu glob\u00e1ln\u00edch teplot o v\u00edce ne\u017e 2 \u00b0C \u2013 a pokud mo\u017eno o 1,5 \u00b0C \u2013 oproti p\u0159edindustri\u00e1ln\u00ed \u00farovni, uplynulo ji\u017e \u0161est let, ale sv\u011bt st\u00e1le neud\u011blal dost. COP26 p\u0159edstavuje z\u00e1sadn\u00ed p\u0159\u00edle\u017eitost, jak udr\u017eet c\u00edl 1,5 \u00b0C v dosahu.<\/p>\n
Zm\u011bna klimatu se t\u00fdk\u00e1 n\u00e1s v\u0161ech. N\u00e1rody, kter\u00e9 jsou touto kriz\u00ed posti\u017eeny nejv\u00edce, ji\u017e pat\u0159\u00ed mezi nejzraniteln\u011bj\u0161\u00ed zem\u011b a m\u011bn\u00edc\u00ed se klima m\u016f\u017ee vyhnat z domov\u016f miliony lid\u00ed. D\u016fsledky zm\u011bny klimatu vid\u00edme tak\u00e9 mnohem bl\u00ed\u017e k domovu, ve st\u0159edn\u00ed Evrop\u011b, kter\u00e1 se v posledn\u00edch letech pot\u00fdk\u00e1 se st\u00e1le extr\u00e9mn\u011bj\u0161\u00edm po\u010das\u00edm \u2013 sucha, z\u00e1plavy, torn\u00e1da, vysok\u00e9 teploty.<\/p>\n
Glob\u00e1ln\u00edm hrozb\u00e1m lze \u010delit pouze glob\u00e1ln\u00ed akc\u00ed. Ta v\u0161ak stoj\u00ed na konkr\u00e9tn\u00edch \u010dinech jednotliv\u00fdch akt\u00e9r\u016f. \u010cesk\u00e1 republika je \u010dlenskou zem\u00ed Evropsk\u00e9 unie, kter\u00e1 si klade za c\u00edl dosa\u017een\u00ed uhl\u00edkov\u00e9 neutrality do roku 2050. Nen\u00ed to snadn\u00fd \u00fakol, ale v\u0161ichni sm\u011b\u0159ujeme ke stejn\u00e9mu c\u00edli a m\u016f\u017eeme se navz\u00e1jem podporovat a spolupracovat. My, Pra\u017esk\u00e1 klimatick\u00e1 koalice podobn\u011b sm\u00fd\u0161lej\u00edc\u00edch diplomatick\u00fdch mis\u00ed v Praze, se t\u011b\u0161\u00edme na \u00fazkou spolupr\u00e1ci s novou \u010deskou vl\u00e1dou, parlamentem, ob\u010danskou spole\u010dnost\u00ed a dal\u0161\u00edmi z\u00fa\u010dastn\u011bn\u00fdmi stranami, abychom se pod\u011blili o zku\u0161enosti a osv\u011bd\u010den\u00e9 postupy na cest\u011b k uhl\u00edkov\u00e9 neutralit\u011b. Ka\u017ed\u00fd p\u0159\u00edsp\u011bvek se po\u010d\u00edt\u00e1 a jen spole\u010dn\u011b m\u016f\u017eeme ud\u011blat sv\u011bt lep\u0161\u00edm m\u00edstem pro budouc\u00ed generace.<\/p>\n
