Presentation of the Big Science Business Forum 2024 at the Italian Embassy in Prague

21st March 2024. The Italian Embassy in Prague, in collaboration with the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Central European Initiative (InCE), the organizing committee of the Big Science Business Forum 2024 (BSBF 2024), the ICE Agency and the Italo-Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CAMIC), organizes today the launch of the BSBF 2024, which will be held in Trieste from 1st to 4th October 2024 and will focus on opportunities for collaboration between the world of research and industry, as well as on business partnerships between local stakeholders and large scientific organizations, which at the European level consists in a market of about 10 billion euros per year.

The event will be opened by the Italian Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Mauro Marsili, followed by speeches from the Regional Councilor for Labor, Training, Education, Research, Universities, and Family of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, Alessia Rosolen, and the coordinator for the Czech Republic of InCE, Ambassador Hana Hubackova. The main themes of the Big Science Business Forum 2024 will then be outlined by the Director of BSBF Trieste 2024, Paolo Acunzio, while Dr. Alessandro Lombardo will deepen those related to InCE.

The Prague event of the roadshow will conclude with a roundtable coordinated by Deputy Head of Mission Laura Calligaro and will be dedicated to the theme “The opportunities of Big Science for local companies and stakeholders.” The speakers at the roundtable will be Petr Brezina, Director of the Executive Division of the Rez Research Center, Ales Hala, Head of Innovation Office at ELI Beamlines Facility, Tomas Kovalovsky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Czech Nuclear Association, Martin Klapste, Project Coordinator at Vakuum Praha company, and Emil Cerny, Head of Engineering Department of Streicher company.

The presentation roadshow of the Forum, which has already visited Belgrade and Bratislava, is promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to encourage the participation of companies, operators, and other stakeholders from Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe in the BSBF 2024, within the framework of strengthening the collaboration between laboratories, research centers, and industries in the context of an international event focused on market-oriented scientific and technological cooperation.
